That's probably just as well, since you do a much better job of describing it than I would. I used to be a fan of Mr. Van Damme until his personal life became bigger than his career. To me, he became a piece of beefcake who was a lot cuter with his mouth shut. When he stopped baring his butt, I stopped watching. I felt like the monologue spoke directly to that. It could have been cloying but he made it work. The guy can act. Also, his face is much more interesting now. I can live with seeing his derriere in clothing, too. This is the most fun I've had reading subtitles in a long time. Damn, you beat me to writing about this flick.
