Good News, Everyone!

Is it just me, or does everyone else read those same words in the voice of Hubert J. Farnsworth?

…Anyway, I hope everyone had a great holiday, and partied safe and sane.

The wife and I have had a secret for nearly two months that we feel we must share with everyone, damned the consequences.

And so, on this very stage, I’d like to announce that…(drumroll, please)….we’re having our first child.

Let me tell you, this news hasn’t quite sunk in for me, but I’m sure in the coming months it will.  We’re currently two months along, and we wanted to keep this bit of news to ourselves until we felt confident that nothing was going to go wrong during these early weeks.  It was tough keeping this information from the parents, but we finally broke our silence this weekend.

It’s funny, but Karin already wants to start thinking about names for the baby.  Now, I’ve thought long and hard about this, and have come up with several names that I think are perfect.  Those names are, in no particular order:

Chewbacca
McLovin
Optimus Prime

Karin has shot these names down already, but I’ll keep fightin’ for ‘em ;-)

Oh, and bonus points go out to Nicole from Madlab Post for guessing what our good news was.  Nicole, one free internet is on it’s way to you…

Congrats man! I had a feeling that this might be the news.

If it’s a boy, you call him Jesus… “cause no one f”s with da Jesus.”

Congratulations!!!! Now, why did I guess that when I read your previous 4th of July post? That’s so weird since I haven’t met you and Karin. Your name suggestions early on are quite interesting so my vote is for Optimus Prime. I started to go for Chewbacca but the other one gives off a tougher impression.

Thanks for the bonus points. I wish I did have free internet. My utility company is charging me up the wall for phone and internet. I’m considering getting rid of the home phone service altogether and just pay for the internet line but wonder if I’ll still be able to keep the number of my home phone line.

Hey Herman – Congrats to you both buddy! And keep Karin safe and loved all the way ;) )
The names you chose are a joke :) Leave it to Karin as she surely wont pick a name that will hurt your child :) And have a great week ahead!

Wow, congrats to you and Karin! Looks like you have some remodeling to plan! It’s pretty common to think of silly names before making a final decision. I vote for Angus, Tyler, or Zappa if a boy and Sonoma, Lydia, or Xena if a girl. Oh and of course Longhair as a middle name (j/k). Hey that is so cool and I am really happy for both of you! Let the Ward family circus know, eh?

My heartfelt thanks to every one of you! Karin and I wanted to thank you for your thoughts.
Shorthair: Brother man, I was in the process of writing both you and the Wards. That e-mail will still be sent!
