A Window Into My Soul
I swear, if I didn’t know any better I’d think that these guys have a miniature camera secreted away in a dark corner of my living room, watching me multitask whilst trying to “relax”.
It’s funny how “relaxing” in the modern world means having to constantly monitor communications from work via e-mail and cell phone, reviewing the latest news on the web, and keeping your Twitter / Facebook / MySpace / Blogs constantly updated with fresh info. Whatever happened to unplugging, reclining in a chaise lounge in the backyard, and reading a good book?
It’s no wonder some people tend to burn out on requirements of the modern age.

I have my laptop sitting on the kitchen table. How bad is that?
I also have a laptop on the kitchen table I am using right now. I’m watching YouTube, doing homework in an online class, and typing this message. Cell phone and MP3 player nearby. TV on as background noise. I have my RSS feeds scrolling by so I don’t miss any headlines. A helicopter just buzzed by as I write this. I live in a rural area with lots of meth labs so various three letter agencies do nightly sweeps regularly. Those guys are probably watching YouTube, talking on the phone, etc from the air. Interesting world we live in, eh? Just wait until all of this stuff gets integrated directly into our brains. There will such thing as unplugging.
