I’ll Be The First To Admit…

October 2nd, 2009

…that I’ve been seriously slacking on the posting this week.  My lack of ambition, motivation, and drive have been sucked dry by work.  It’s strange how, after a long vacation, things tend to stack up when you’re not looking.  I’m afraid my once shining example of what one man can do given a infinite amount of time and a grip-load of anonymity has spiraled out of control, reaching an ever-deepening, suffocating nadir.

But tremble and cower before my pitiful blog, for next week I bring some very interesting news from the family front.  And no, it’s not about the bum fight I saw on the street corner yesterday (even though I did have $5 on the guy with the crazy beard), nor about the hitchhiker walking down the freeway at one in the morning sportin’ an impressive mohawk.  Tune in on Monday for the nasty, dirty details.

And so, in honor of this wasted week, let me present you with 100 of the greatest hits of youtube.  This sort video packs more entertainment in four minutes that I have all week long…

I hear ya on the blog front. I am heading to LA next week for a conference. This week I am going crazy trying to get things ready for my time away. At least once a day I have told myself, “Next week you are in LA and don’t have to get on any calls, schedule any projects, leading any meetings. Just do what you need this week to get away!”

And so today is Friday and I leave on Sunday. All is good and looking forward to a week in LA learning the latest tech/dev stuff and exploring the city and surrounding area.

I know exactly how you feel about workload silently piling up on you during your vacation and leaving you with a mountain heap to deal with once you report back to work. Now you make me curious on the outcome of the bum fight. Did you pocket another fiver or lose it?

Heh…no, brother. Alas, my bum lost. As he picked himself up off the ground, he picked up his “will work for food” sign, stumbled across the busy street, pointing angerly and shouting curses as he walked away.
