I think what I was referring to was misconstrued. In making those comments, I was referring to people who obsess over frivolities like making a pet sitting guide book. Sure, we all need recreation to stay sane. I stated no disapproval about what you post nor did I say we should fixate on gloom and doom 24/7. I don't know anyone who spends even a minute in a month worrying about problems on the other side of the world. My point was really about how spoiled and decadent we have become as a society when we are taking better care of our dogs than our fellow man. But I think if we did occasionally wrap ourselves in the misery of the world's woes, there would be a lot less woes to worry about in the long run.

LOL, and I am a cat person too, but love dogs as well. Dogs are not to please their masters alone, and according to me it should go both ways with whatever pet one is having, being a cat or a dog - love them and provide for them and they will love you back and all will have fun and enjoy eachother's company

NofsseI slezloee :

“some people have their priorities all out of whack”. Some people? Man, the entire human race has its priorities out of whack. Global warming, mercury in the oceans, trash piling everywhere, peak oil, crime, corruption, starvation and you name it. But this is an example of what so many here are really worried about and this is why we are in decline.

Interesting. So, by your logic, we're not allowed to comment on the daily trappings of life? I understand the importance of the bigger things, but does that mean we're not allowed to listen to music, catch some waves, wax our cars, play a drunken set of Mouse Trap by candlelight when the power goes out, or write a book that'll most likely never see the light of day because there's hunger in the world, nuclear waste slowly seeping into the water table from inside some anonymous hollowed-out mountain, and unchecked tribal warfare in Africa? Should we wrap ourselves in the tragedy of the world's woes 24/7, mournfully roam the halls of our homes with our heads hung low, and cry ourselves to sleep every night? Everything in proportion, my friend.

Of course I could have completely misconstrued your comment, and if I did then I'm sorry. I can see your point going either way :-)

Regardless, I appreciate your viewpoint and would like to know more. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

"Margee likes to be talked to while she eats. You can talk about anything, but speak softly." That might be the funniest thing I have hear in a long, long time. As much as I feel sorry for the dogs I some how feel 10x more sorry for the owner.
