No Question About It

Without question, the greatest driving song ever recorded is Golden Earring’s Twilight Zone. There’s just something about the heartbeat beat, the awesome chorus, and that re-introduction of the base line guitar at 2:30 that makes me want to smash down on the accelerator and drive off speeding into the night.

Heck, the thing even makes me want to buy a silver scorpion jacket and become a stunt man just like Driver in Drive. The only other things I might need are a watch and a hammer ;-)

Unfortunately some of the impact of the song is lessened by the terrible quality of the audio in this video, but you get the general idea.

What song(s) get hit you right in the gut, confirming the fact that you’re alive and ready for trouble?

I listen to music when I drive but there’s nothing that makes me want to go at fantastic speeds. Blue Cafe always puts me in the mood for driving though, just don’t ask me why.

I love listening to Queen when I drive
back when I drove from Brooklyn to Midtown Manhattan every single day I would leave at 4 or 5 AM and have the road to myself
loved blasting music and driving a little too fast

Thanks for asking! Ballroom Blitz by Sweet :)

I have to admit, I never saw the band perform until a youtube clip about a year ago, and I nearly fell off my chair laughing … but I do like the tune :)

Not bad! Very atmospheric music. I can totally see why their music strikes you!

Hey…Freddy Mercury was the greatest front man ever, without a doubt. Shame he had to leave us so soon. Long live Queen!

Hey…that’s the song from Wayne’s World II. Heh….Yeah, that’s a tune that can easily make me want to break the law! Awesome choice!
