Some Days…

February 14th, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

I must admit that, even though I have a job which I thoroughly enjoy, there are some days when the disconcerting thought creeps into my brain, telling me that I’m wasting away my days chained to a desk.

After all, there are so many other, more rewarding ways to spend a life…

But whatareyougonnado?  Sometimes it sucks to be a responsible member of society.  At least I can take comfort in the fact that I work in a profession where the good days outnumber the bad 4-to-1.  Those aren’t bad odds, if you ask me.

Teetering on the edge must be avoided at all costs….grins. I think we all get dissatisfied and disillusioned with our jobs but when we stop and think about it we’re usually not that badly off.

That’s freaking hilarious. The second half of his life is so eventless!

You said it, buddy! That’s I feel about my job too. The good days way outnumber the bad :)

That’s a pretty good ratio, I think. On the bad days, I think of it as a means to an end – the end being food, shelter, etc :)

Hope you have a run of extra-good days coming up.

*Exactly* I can think of far worse places I could be, and feel thankful for what I have.

Right on! Glad to know I’m not the only one out there thinking the same thing. Hope you have a great weekend, my friend.

Thanks, Jenny! Yeah, it’s all “work hard, play hard” over here. What I need to do (my job) allows me to do what I want to do (everything else). Have a great weekend!

Not at all. I’d take those odds at Vegas any day of the week!

Hahahaha! Well, when you put it like that … Have to say, when they say your life flashes before you, I wasn’t expecting a movie! LOL!

Yes, I think very few people truly enjoy their jobs. It is, perhaps, enough to know that you are fulfilling a useful purpose and contributing to society. Since retiring from the rat-race, when I earned so little I couldn’t even say I was contributing much to the family budget, I find I need to do volunteer work in order not to feel aimless and useless. I didn’t think I would feel like that, but I do!
