I just upgraded from WordPress 2.8 to the just-released 3.0 “Thelonious”. With an improved menu system, improved bulk updating, custom menu management, a slick interface and snazzy new themes, I’m quite impressed with this new incarnation of WordPress.
Sure…I’m not quite as excited as this:
…but you get the general idea.
If you haven’t updated to 3.0 yet, what are you waiting for?
I haven’t been sleeping well these past few nights. Whatever the reason, I just can’t fall asleep. I’ll toss and turn, eyeballing the red glowing clock through razor slits for eyes as it ticks past 1am…2am…3am. And just when I’m about to pass out, right when I can feel the world begin to melt away in a warm, slow tumble, I catch myself and wake right up.
Morning arrives quickly, the day goes by far too slowly, and before I know it it’s time to start the whole ritual all over again.
This video is an excellent example of how I’ve been feeling these past few days:
I think the root cause stems from work. I’ve had one day off these past two weeks, and half of that time was spent “on call”. I haven’t had time to go on a run or hit the gym. I believe my body is revolting on me, silently urging me to find time to hit the trails and throw some iron around.
I think I might have Karin pick up Tyler from the sitter tomorrow so I can hit up Iron Mountain after work. A bit of physical abuse is just what I need to get me right…
I don’t know what prompted me to take this picture, but there it was, hiding in a dark alcove on my camera’s memory card, stamped with a date of 02/23/09. Perhaps I was going to make a subtle yet effective parallel between the substandard educational system and the dearth of viable political candidates in recent elections. Or perhaps this gentleman simply reminded me of my hippie sister who lives in San Francisco and her disconcerting habit of pulling out her hair and eating it.
Regardless, whatever urge that prompted me to grab my camera and take a picture of this fellow has long since slipped from my mind. Yet here it remains, forever taunting me:
You, sir, are one sexy beast. Don’t ever let anyone tell you differently.
This past weekend I did something I’ve never done before; I ran my Mt. Woodson route backwards. No, I didn’t physically run backwards on it, but rather I started from the end and worked my way to the beginning.
Anyway, because I was attacking Woodson from the Lake Poway direction I noticed this interesting rock on the downhill side as I descended Woodson:
