NO thank you! I wouldn't go out of a plane with a parachute and a back up parachute. And landing on a pile of boxes... well, I'd still manage to break a hip and a couple other things.

The closest produce place to me is AWFUL. If you don't plan on eating most of what you buy THAT day, then in a day or two it will be covered with fuzzy mold. Gah! The place gets pretty busy so people must be shopping there for price and not quality.

Not too far from that is a Saturday market of local farmers. Parking is a bit of a challenge but they do have all the seasonal things... Jersey fresh asparagus, strawberries, herbs, tomatoes, corn, etc. etc. Yes, there are some additional vendors but they mostly sell food items like pies, fresh breads, honey from local bee keepers, homemade salsas and ciders, etc. The only time they have 'other' items are at the end of the season when farmers supplies are getting low. They do open up a few spaces around Thanksgiving for crafters but only to fill in empty spots before the market closes for winter.
I grocery shop mostly at Wegmans and can get decent produce there from local farmers depending on what's in season. And they stand behind all they sell. So I have taken a few things back if it goes wonky before I think it should. ha!

If we drive a little further we're at the orchards.... YUM! We self-pick blueberries, cherries, peaches, apples, right off the bushes and trees as they each come into season. That's a wonderful thing.

I know the Reading Terminal and Italian Market Ron and Nicole speak of and I think have heard of the co-op too. It's all good! A bit too far for me to do regular shopping but I have been there on longer trips to the City.
I guess we're lucky in this area to still have farmers and places to buy their goodies.
