Terrible Analogies

First we had fish that walked, dinosaurs that flew, and now we face that most terrible of nightmares…cats with thumbs.

My only hope is that I don’t live to see this day…

I’m updating my blog from work.

It’s currently 8pm and I’m doing my best to complete a program before it goes up for code review with the developers tomorrow morning. The last time I ate was at lunch, and the only thing getting me through these late, long hours are the extra cans of Big Red I brought into work earlier this week.

…and to think that coding isn’t in my job description.  Let’s hear it for self-preservation in the workplace!

Being members of the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Safari Park means we can be at either park within minutes, and don’t have to feel guilty about leaving after walking around for just an hour or two.  Heck, we can return the next day.

And Tyler really seems to enjoy the animals.  So much so that he’s getting good at imitating them.

“Tyler, what does a lion say?”

“Rawr!”

“Tyler, what does a monkey say?”

“Ooh!  Ooh!”

“Tyler, what does cow say?”

“Mooo!”

“Tyler, what does Admiral Ackbar say?”

…okay, we’re still working on that one.  I’m confident that someday he’ll correctly reply with, “It’s a trap!”  Heh…
